Getting Started
Assessments & Evaluations
Understanding your child better begins here. A thorough assessment is key to giving your family the clarity and direction you need to move forward with confidence.
Know Exactly Where Your Child Stands
That picture becomes the foundation for a coordinated care plan designed around your child, not a generic checklist.
Every child at Mitchell's Place starts with a comprehensive evaluation. Our clinical team looks at communication, behavior, social skills, and learning to build a complete picture of your child's strengths and needs. Nothing is guessed. Everything is measured.
Every evaluation is designed to answer a specific question.
Mitchell's Place offers several types of assessments depending on what your family needs to know. Each one is conducted by licensed clinicians and results in a clear, actionable plan.
Diagnostic Development Evaluation
Uses gold-standard tools and direct observation to assess developmental evaluations, address concerns for autism, developmental delays (communication, behavior, and social development) and learning impairments (ADHD, anxiety, and much more). Gives you a clear answer on whether your child is on the autism spectrum.
Speech and Language Evaluation
Assesses how your child understands and uses language, including verbal communication and social communication. Evaluates concerns for delayed language, expressive + receptive language development and articulation. Results guide whether speech therapy is recommended and what it should focus on to help your child find their voice!
Occupational Therapy Evaluation
Licensed Occupational Therapists examine fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living tasks like dressing and self-care. Identifies what's getting in the way and collaborates with you on a tailored plan specific to your child's needs that focuses on what support can help.
Feeding Evaluation
For children with limited food acceptance, chewing difficulties, or strong mealtime aversions. Our speech therapists and occupational therapists will explore how your child’s oral motor development and sensory aversions impact their feeding experience. They collaborate to identify the root causes and map a path toward safer, more comfortable eating.
